The world is crazy. It's unstable. In the middle east, innocent children, just like mine are being beheaded. Can you even digest such loaded words when typed so simply? Parents just like us are seeing their babies taken, torn physically apart and treated as worthless. Dads are being shot in front of their families. Regular moms like me are being taken from their children's arms, brutally raped and murdered. In the streets, in the parks... genocide is happening.
I am numb....
Believers burned at the stake. Mass shootings, suicide bombings...
I am numb...
Our country is honoring a twisted, worldly belief systems while shaming Christian beliefs and subliminally making us question our very foundation as black becomes white and everything slowly fades to grey.
I am still numb...
I see leaders rising up saying pray for our nation, pray for Christians in Iraq, pray for Syria, Israel, alas, even our pray for own soil....yet...
I find myself STILL not praying. Within my own ability, I don't know how to pray. I don't even know what to say to the Father about the completely insane, unmentionable acts that are happening across the globe and in our backyard. My words feel void of impact opposing such a heavy contender. I can't even let my mind go to what it must feel like to see your child's body put to death in such a gut wrenching, animalistic manner.
So I have become paralyzed in my own inability to make a difference.
Here I sit in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Here I sit in my comfortable home, comfortable car, someone cutting my grass as I type this and I let the kids have 10 minutes on an electronic device each. How can I find such words that touch the heart of God for such a dark, heavy situation?
For a few days I have had Romans 8:26 just bubble up in my heart. I have thought about it, meditated on it, looked it up in many translations.
And now I know WHY....
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. Romans 8:26
Now I realize, I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
No, I don't know adequate words to reach the heart of God that would carry the weight of this situation. However, the Holy Spirit does. <CLICK TO TWEET>
So, He HELPS me. I let Him bring words to my heart. I let Him pray. I am just a clay jar.
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. 2 Cor 4:7
He is the power. He makes the difference. I am nothing but the jar.
BUT I AM A JAR. I can be used by Him. I can allow Him to use me to create change on the other side of the earth for His glory. I can pray, with His help... and angels are dispatched on those believers' behalves to protect and lead, protect and guide them.
So I challenge you. Let HIM pray. No longer be paralyzed by your own inability to find the right words for such a heavy situation. <CLICK TO TWEET>
You may just be a jar, BUT BE THE JAR.
You my friend, have insight from the Holy One. Your light words, partnered with His resurrection power WILL change situations. < CLICK TO TWEET>
You may not know the impact of your prayers until Eternity calls. Pray anyway.
You may feel the same. Pray anyway.
News reports may grow worse. Pray anyway.
Let us not believe the lies that we are ineffective. Quite the opposite, dear reader. You are powerful and hold within you the power to change eternity for others.
Please share if this encouraged you to pray. There is power when we all pray together, with HIM. We need to get this message out. We have the greater one inside of us, greater than he that is in the world. Share, tweet, Pin... get the message out. #PRAY
